Recently, we have learned via official GAC Toyota news that the company’s small SUV, the Veranda, will debut on February 28. The Veranda is a sibling car to the new Toyota RAV4, however they have distinct front end components to appeal to more people.
The pre-sale price for this vehicle was previously disclosed by GAC Toyota and runs from 170,000 to 250,000 yuan for a total of four versions. The Veranda will be offered in two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive variants, and will be available in four configuration levels: leading edition, luxury edition, technology edition, and premium edition. It’s a product with a lot of competition.
The Veranda is powered by two engines: a 2.0L naturally aspirated engine and a 2.5L dual-engine hybrid. The 2.0L engine produces 171 horsepower, has a peak torque of 209 Newton-meters, and is equipped with a CVT speed changing box. The 2.5L dual-engine version produces 178 horsepower with a combined maximum output of 222 horsepower. The rear axle is powered by a motor.
Veranda’s front face has a very personal design that is very different from the style of that of the new Toyota RAV4. The Veranda uses a spindle-style air intake grille with a honeycomb grid finish and a trapezoidal base design at the bottom. The outside of the car body’s grille is raised and looks very textured. The car’s headlights have a B-shaped outline, and the daylights have a hook design that looks very textured. The headlights of the car have recessed air ducts beneath them, and its exterior silhouette is muscular style.
The sides of the Veranda and the brand-new Toyota RAV4 have the same design, with a black finish above the C-pillar to add a fashionable touch. The wheel arch is surrounded by black and has a strong contour on the Veranda’s side profile. The car body is adorned with muscular lines on the side. The Veranda’s rear windshield has a steep forward slope, an air deflector at the top, and a square profile at the tail end. Because of their long, flat C-shaped outline, its taillights are visually sharp. The taillights also have stylish black and chrome-plated edges on the outside and inside edges. The Veranda also has a thick bottom that is surrounded by a muscular appearance.
The Veranda’s center console is almost identical to the RAV4’s, and it has a rugged, sporty interior, a three-panel steering wheel, a levitating huge center screen, and a larger, more tensile-looking 10.1-in screen than the new RAV4 from abroad. There is plenty of storage and a heavily textured panel on the car’s passenger side. The platform’s front side has a silver border and is moderately textured as well. Electric leather seats, dual zone fully automatic air conditioning, an electric sunroof, an 18-inch wheel, LED headlights, an electronic parking system, and further configuration choices will all be available on the Veranda. In terms of safety configuration, the Veranda performs admirably, as it includes all of the standard 7 airbags, TSS intelligent safety technology, and astern radar and so on.
