At the previous year’s Shanghai Auto Show, FAW Toyota debuted a new A+ class sedan. Because of how similar it appears to the Toyota Asian Dragon, internet users have referred to the vehicle as a smaller version “Asian Dragon ”. When it goes on sale next month, the car is expected to cost around 150,000 yuan. Its price is higher than that of the Corolla.
Due to the numerous Asian dragon’s design features that have been incorporated into the new vehicle’s overall appearance, it is referred to as a “little” Asian dragon. A massive trapezoidal air intake grille and an inner spoke structure with chrome plating give the front face a beautiful appearance. They also match the front bumper’s three-stage air intake design.
As is customary, let’s start with a quick rundown of the car’s design philosophy. With the Asian Dragon as its foundation, it’s no surprise that the car’s first appearance is similar to a more polished version of the Asian Dragon. The front face has a stepped structure and becomes softer as it moves from the front to the periphery. A lot of chrome ornamental strips are used as ornamentation in the middle with great design sense. The original “wolf’s teeth” air intake was designed on both sides of the motor head. Similar to the Corolla, but obviously the former is stronger in terms of strength.
The dimensions of this vehicle are 4720mm in length, 1780mm in width, and 1435mm in height, with a 2750mm wheelbase. This vehicle’s dimensions are inferior to the Volkswagen Sagitar in terms of length, breadth, and height, but its wheelbase is 19mm larger, maximizing the usable internal capacity. The side of the automobile is mostly flat and without any defining features; it seems more like an extended Corolla!
There is a distinction between the Corolla and the Asian dragon in terms of car tail. The taillight is made up of two elements, and the top of the car tail is fairly stable. A double L-shaped structure in the outermost layer that glows brilliantly! Despite lacking the Asian Dragon’s sporty sense and the Corolla’s fashion sense, this vehicle is the pinnacle of vigour!
Toyota has carried over many Corolla design elements, such as the dashboard and floating center screen, to the interior. This car appears more modern due to the use of a two-color splicing design throughout. A double-layer structure is used above the instrument platform, as well as a double-layer structure on its right side.
Considering power, the vehicle will be propelled by a 2.0L self-priming engine with the same 13:1 compression ratio as the Asian Dragon, producing a maximum of 126kW when paired with a CVT transmission. The new vehicle will come into the market in April of this year, with a starting price of approximately 150,000 yuan.
