On December 26, 2022, the Land Rover Defender 130 had its formal debut in China. At the same time, pre-sales started. Pre-sale prices for the P400 HSE and P400 X models, which were two new ones, were 1.198 million yuan and 1.278 million yuan, respectively. According to the most current reports, the new vehicle is scheduled to make its official premiere on February 7, 2023, Beijing time.

The Defender 130 is a new design that can be thought of as a “expanded version” of the 110. The new vehicle’s length is raised to 5,358 mm under the assumption that the wheelbase stays the same (3022mm). The interior area has increased in size along with the increase in vehicle length, allowing the Defender 130 model to be configured with an eight-seat configuration.

The new vehicle retains the general design of the previous two Defender models, with only minor size changes. In the front, the new car retains the Defender family’s style. A lot of horizontal straight-line designs in square and strong square shapes give the impression that the vehicle is extremely powerful. Semicircular LED daytime running lights on both sides of the massive light group, which employs a matrix light source construction, are visually appealing while also combining science and technology. The front encircle, which is surrounded by numerous silver guard plates, has an old-school off-road appearance as well.

The new car’s sides rentain the rigorous body design of its family, and the window bezel and exterior rearview mirror have been painted black. A little black trim is attached to the front fender, and the 20-inch five-spoke rims are hidden underneath. With its flat and rounded waist line design, the new car’s enlargement of the rear suspension position is quite visible and contributes to a more forceful temperament.

In terms of body size, the new car with 8-seat layout has been changed to a great extent in size. The new car measures 5358mm in length, 2008mm in width, and 1970mm in height, respectively. The new vehicle’s wheelbase, which is 3022mm, is the same as that of the Defender 110 model. The Bodyguard 110 is 412mm shorter in length than the vehicle, though.

The new car’s rear design is remarkably similar to that of the other two models. The off-road styling is clearly visible due to the square line shape, full-size outside-mounted spare tire, and huge silver protective plate on the rear surround and front face.

The new car retains the interior style of the former two models in terms of its inside. The harsh design is maintained by the sturdy, four-spoke, multi-purpose steering wheel with lots of straight lines and the elevated seating posture. The addition of a 11.4-inch center screen and a 12.3-inch all-LCD dashboard makes the cabin feel more modern. It is important to note that the new vehicle uses a 2+3+3 8-seat configuration, has a panoramic sunroof, and has superior inside lighting. The second and third rows of seats in the back are also completely foldable, enabling the trunk to expand to 2,291 liters when everything is turned upside down.
